Lapidary work is slow, deliberate, and unforgiving. A degree off on the angle, a moment's impatience on the lap — the stone tells you immediately. That feedback loop is what makes it worth doing. Every stone cut here is worked to its own tolerances, not a template.

Engineering came first. A decade building systems at scale — infrastructure, distributed services, teams — before the lapidary bench became a second discipline. The two things look unrelated until you spend time at both. Precision is precision. Tolerance is tolerance. The stone and the system both tell you when you've gotten it wrong.
The lapidary work grew from a genuine obsession with optical material — alexandrite, color-shift corundum, rare transparent rough. Stones that reward close attention. Cutting them well requires the same instinct that makes good software: work to the tolerances the material demands, not the ones that are convenient. No shortcuts that compound later.
Both arms are run by one person. That means direct engagement, finite capacity, and work that doesn't get handed off to someone who wasn't in the original conversation. Jagtech takes on work that fits and does it properly — not because it can't scale, but because scaling past that point is where quality breaks.
